About the Tour
This 11-night, 12-day Kruger, Garden Route & Cape Town experience begins in Johannesburg and ends in Cape Town and it covers just about everything there is to see along the way.
Southern Africa is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world, especially because of the many safari options that are available. Seeing Africa’s massive population of mammals is a once in a lifetime experience and when you are on safari with us, you are certainly going to be seeing numerous animals. Southern Africa is a vast area and there are many attractions that you can look forward to seeing along the way. Day 1: Arrive in Johannesburg
A driver will be waiting at OR Tambo International Airport to transfer you to the hotel where you will be staying for the night. After you are checked into your rooms, the rest of the afternoon is spent at your own leisure.

Day 2: Johannesburg to Kruger Park
We depart from Johannesburg between 06:00 – 08:30 to allow for various collection points. Your journey to Protea Hotel is a scenic one that takes you past many of South Africa’s dynamic and colorful landscapes, including open fields and mountainous terrain. The drive to the hotel is via the highveld and then further on towards the Lowveld area. At some point, we’ll also stop to buy lunch and/or snacks (own expense).
The hotel is located a mere 100 meters from the Kruger Park’s Paul Kruger Gate. On arrival, you will be welcomed by the friendly staff before being shown to your rooms so you can unpack and relax a little before your first-afternoon safari drive. The safari drive will be inside the Kruger National Park, which offers you the opportunity to spot wildlife. After the safari drive, you return to the hotel for dinner.

Day 3: Full Day Kruger Park Safari
Today on safari you to spend as much time as possible experiencing the uniqueness of the bush. Game drives are conducted in specially-designed open safari vehicles that offer guests the best possible game viewing experience. Guides are knowledgeable on all that the park has to offer and will do their best to share interesting information with you as well as help you spot the animals and birds that you’d like to.
During the morning you will stop at Skukuza Rest Camp for breakfast which was conveniently packed for you by the hotel before continuing on your safari drive in search of the wildlife animals that call the Kruger Park home. Lunch will be at a rest camp or picnic spot inside the Kruger Park around mid-day and will be for your own account. Late afternoon you exit the Kruger Park and will be dropped off back at the hotel. After some relaxation time, make your way to the boma area for dinner.

Day 4: Kruger Park to Cape Town
Enjoy a last morning safari drive and breakfast at the hotel before checking-out. Your driver will collect you from the camp and transfer you to Nelspruit’s KMIA Airport for your flight to Cape Town. On arrival at Cape Town Airport, a driver will collect you from the arrivals hall and transfer you to the hotel where you will be staying.

Day 5: Cape Town at your own leisure
Today is spent at your own leisure and you can participate in the many activities that can be arranged at the hotel reception desk. You can take a trip to Table Mountain, visit the Seal Colony, take a boat trip to Robben Island, or visit one of the local wine farms. Cape Town is a port city on South Africa’s southwest coast, on a peninsula beneath the imposing Table Mountain. Slowly rotating cable cars climb to the mountain’s flat top, from which there are sweeping views of the city, the busy harbor, and boats heading for Robben Island, the notorious prison that once held Nelson Mandela, which is now a living museum.

Day 6: Cape Town to Oudtshoorn
After a scrumptious breakfast you make your way to Oudtshoorn, why not drive along the famous route 62. Cape Route 62 is the tourist route in the Western Cape and Eastern Cape, along the way, you can visit the Cango Caves, a subterranean wonderland of magnificent stalactite and stalagmite rock formations that attracts thousands of visitors annually. Arriving at the hotel in the afternoon, you are checked in and shown to your room, the rest of the days are spent exploring the area.

Day 7: Addo National Park
There will be plenty to do on this day! You could visit Meerkat Adventures (optional and own expense), where you can do a two to three-hour tour with wild meerkats … before sunrise, we might add. Then, after breakfast, we’ll depart to Cango Caves – home to dripstone caverns containing vast halls and towering formations – for their Heritage Tour at 09:00. Once we’ve explored this unique site, we’ll enjoy a tasty lunch at Steytlerville Royal Hotel (own expense).
Following our arrival at the main camp at Addo Elephant National Park, we’ll aim to spot lions, elephants and more on a sunset SANParks drive. Remember, this is not a private game drive and other guests may be joining you on the drive. Dinner is a two-course meal, made with love and served al fresco. You may also be
happy to know that wine is served with dinner but guests are welcome to bring along additional/alternative drinks which can be purchased at the shop.

Day 8: Addo National Park
Today, we’ll spend our time exploring the Addo Elephant National Park. Starting off with a morning game drive, our guides will aim to show us as much of the park, and the magnificent creatures that call it home, as possible, before we head back to the camp for a yummy and much-needed breakfast. After this, you’ll have some free time, which you could spend exploring the camp. In the afternoon, we’ll embark on another game drive, which offers us the opportunity to see the animals we haven’t as yet, before heading back to camp for an exquisite dinner and great conversation with the new friends we’ve made.

Day 9: Knysna
After getting off to an early start, we grab some breakfast and then head to the stunning, scenic Storms River, which travels through the Tsitsikamma Mountain Range and then out into the Indian Ocean … it’s a popular stop on the Garden Route. And if you think that sounds amazing, just wait until we get to experience the John Benn sunset cruise – it’s known as one of the best floating restaurants in Knysna! Our accommodation on this evening will be at Aestas, a cozy B&B, located in Knysna, that offers stunning
views and is only a walk away from several shops and restaurants. After all that exploring, this place is the perfect spot to spend the night!

Day 10: Cape Agulhas
Today is the day you get to catch up on all the sleep you’ve missed. We have the morning at leisure before departing to Agulhas at about 11:00 … the drive may seem long but the scenery along the way more than makes up for it. We travel through the scenic Overberg region (you might see The Langeberg mountain Range in the distance), which has rolling hills and fields of wheat and canola, and fynbos. We’ll also pass well-known towns like Mossel Bay and Bredasdorp, which, by the way, has a great shipwreck museum … you might even be able to visit it if it’s open when we pass by. Once we reach Agulhas National Park – our accommodation for the evening – we’ll get to enjoy not only breath-taking views but also a fine meal beneath the stars and the South African sky.

Day 11: Cape Town
After a satisfying breakfast, we’ll commence our journey through one of the most scenic parts of the country. If you didn’t get to see enough shipwrecks in Bredasdorp, Agulhas would have a few noteworthy ones, too. To appease those rumbling tummies, we’ll stop in the town of Hermanus to have lunch (own expense) and hopefully of spot several southern right whales (seasonal) while we’re at it. After grabbing a bite to eat, we’ll continue through to Stellenbosch for an unforgettable wine tasting at one of the wine farms, depending on the time available, before concluding our journey you will be dropped off at the hotel where you are staying.

Day 12: Departure Day
After a leisurely breakfast, you are expected to check out from the hotel by 10:00 am. You can spend the rest of the day in Cape Town before being transferred to Cape Town Airport.
