This 9-night, 10-day South Africa Family affair begins in Johannesburg and ends in Cape Town and it covers just about everything there is to see along the way. Day 1: Johannesburg to Hazyview

Today after you are collected in Johannesburg from  OR Tambo Airport, we travel along the picturesque panorama route heading past unique small towns like Dullstroom & Lydenburg. We visit the Blyde River Canyon (the world’s 3rd largest canyon), as well as Bourke’s Luck potholes, followed by Lisbon Falls as well as the famous God’s Window.

We enjoy lunch en-route. We stop in the peaceful little town of Graskop where you can do some shopping at a wide variety of curio shopping before we make our way to the lodge, arriving in the late afternoon. After check-in, enjoy some leisure time and dinner before tomorrow’s safari adventure.

Day 2-3: Full Day Kruger Park Safaris

These days begin with early morning tea or coffee and a light snack before venturing into the wilderness to explore the Kruger National Park in search of Africa’s Big Five (rhino, leopard, lion, buffalo, and elephant) and the variety of other wild animals and birds that inhabit the Park. You will be in the central region which is game-rich bounded by Sabi River in the south and the Olifants River in the north. The region is abundant in zebra, wildebeest, and giraffe with usual predators like Cheetahs and lions. You will stop en-route to enjoy breakfast packs provided by the lodge and for lunch, there will be a stop at a Main Rest Camp. After lunch, we continue on the afternoon safari drive in search of any animals that may have eluded us thus far. We return to the lodge after a full day in the Kruger.

Day 3-4: Hazyview to Sun City Resort

Another early start to the day will see you go on a morning safari drive in the Kruger National Park. During the safari drive, your guide will stop at a rest camp for you to enjoy the breakfast packs prepared for you by the lodge. After the morning safari, you are returned to the lodge to check out before departing with your guide in an air-conditioned vehicle to Nelspruit Airport for your flight to OR Tambo Airport Arriving at the airport, a driver will be waiting to transfer you to the Cascades Hotel in Sun City. After checking in to your room, the rest of the afternoon is spent at your own leisure.

Day 5: Sun City Resort

After breakfast at the hotel, the day is spent at your own leisure. With hundreds of Sun City activities on offer, there are so many things to do in Sun City. From family fun to adrenaline-fueled adventures, Sun City has something for everyone to enjoy.

Day 6: Sun City to Knysna

Today is spent at your own leisure and you can participate in the many activities that can be arranged at the hotel reception desk. You can take a trip to Table Mountain, visit the Seal Colony, take a boat trip to Robben Island, or visit one of the local wine farms. Cape Town is a port city on South Africa’s southwest coast, on a peninsula beneath the imposing Table Mountain. Slowly rotating cable cars climb to the mountain’s flat top, from which there are sweeping views of the city, the busy harbor, and boats heading for Robben Island, the notorious prison that once held Nelson Mandela, which is now a living museum.

Day 7: Knysna

After breakfast, your guide will be waiting to start your tour for the day. Your tour starts with a scenic drive through George and over the Outeniqua Mountains past Oudtshoorn to the Cango Caves, one of the world’s great natural wonders sculptured by nature through the ages – a series of dripstone caverns that open into vast halls of towering stalagmite formations. This is followed by a fascinating visit to an ostrich farm, where you can stand on an egg! After a delicious lunch (own account)  at award-winning Jemima’s Restaurant in Oudtshoorn, it’s on to Cango Wildlife Ranch, a breeding facility for endangered species – here you can touch a cheetah, enjoy the closeness of a tiger cub or wrap yourself in a python! You return to the hotel in the late afternoon.

Day 8: Cape Town

After breakfast, you check out from the hotel and depart to Mosselbay, a harbor town on the Garden Route. It’s known for the wide Santos Beach and the 19th-century Cape St. Blaize Lighthouse, which offers bay views. The Bartolomeu Dias Museum Complex includes the Maritime Museum, the Shell Museum, and botanical gardens. The Post Office Tree, a milkwood tree in the complex, has been used as a mail collection point since the 1500s Continue to Cape Town with stopping for lunch (own account) on route to Cape Town, arriving at the Rockwell Hotel, you are checked.

Day 9: Cape Town Tour

Your tour today starts with a scenic drive along the Atlantic Seaboard, via Sea Point and Camps Bay to the fishing village of Hout Bay for an exhilarating boat trip to Seal Island (weather permitting) Continue to Cape Point through Chapman’s peak (if open), where the romantic notion that this is where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans meet, draws thousands of visitors every year. The Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve is recognized globally for its spectacular beauty, rich biodiversity, animal and birdlife, historic lighthouses and shipwrecks. Enjoy lunch (own account) at a nearby restaurant before moving on to the historic naval base, Simon’s Town, a village rich in history and character, with its penguin and seal colonies, fishing and birdlife, and quaint architecture. Drive back to Cape Town along the coastline passing many seaside towns, then visit the world-renowned Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden, which boasts only indigenous South African plants and is set against the eastern slopes of Table Mountain.

Day 10: Departure Day

After a leisurely breakfast, you are expected to check out from the hotel by 10:00 am. You can spend the rest of the day in Cape Town before being transferred to Cape Town Airport.
