This 7-night,8-day Cape Town & Kruger Park adrenalin safari which starts and ends in Cape Town provides bush walks, safaris & shark cage diving for the adventure enthusiast. From staying in the world-renowned city of Cape Town to exploring the iconic Kruger National Park. Accommodation throughout this trip will be basic.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Cape Town

A driver will be waiting at Cape Town International Airport to transfer you to the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town. Arriving at the hotel After you are checked into your rooms, the rest of the afternoon is spent at your own leisure.

Day 2: Cape Peninsula Tour

This morning after breakfast you depart for your guided tour of the Cape Peninsula. Departing from your hotel via the Atlantic Seaboard in the direction of Hout Bay. It is a lively, trendy part of the city where the beauty of the surroundings is matched only by the beauty of the people. The suburb of Llandudno is dramatically situated against giant granite boulders which keep it all but hidden from the rest of the Peninsula. The historic and picturesque town of Hout Bay has always been a popular destination.

A seaside village that is alive with the sounds and smells of the forest and the sea. Take a cruise to view the seal colony at Duiker Island. Enjoy the crisp, clear air and a spectacular view from one of the Cape’s most visited attractions, Cape Point. After lunch visit one of only two breeding colonies of the Jackass penguins on the African mainland in the charming naval town of Simons Town.

Day 3: Shark Cage Diving

If you are looking for a unique of getting up-close and personal with one of nature’s most awesome predators then look no further. African Eagle offers you the opportunity to spend a day with the Great White Sharks that inhabit the waters of the South African coastline. You will get the chance to dive in the world’s most famous Great White shark hunting ground: Gansbaai’s Shark Alley, at a only 2.5-hour drive from Cape Town.

An early departure is necessary to be able to spend as much time as possible in the presence of the Great White. Breakfast will be provided on arrival in Gansbaai, so no need to worry about missing your hotel’s morning treats. After a full security briefing, you will make your way to the boat waiting to take you out to the world-famous Shark Alley, off the coast of Gansbaai. Upon anchoring at Shark Alley you will get the chance to observe all of its inhabitants, from its seals and various birdlife to Southern Right Whales visiting its waters in season (July to November), and of course the Great White shark. A wetsuit and a diving mask will be provided for you to share the waters with the awesome creature from the safety of a cage that is attached to the boat and floats right next to it. The time you spend in the cage is between 10 and 30 minutes as it depends on the weather and the number of spotted sharks. No diving experience is required. Upon completion of your cage dive and arrival back at Gansbaai harbor, you will get the chance to watch the day’s actions on DVD while devouring a well-deserved lunch. On request, a certificate will be provided to you as to share with your friends and family this incredible day.

Day 4: Cape Wineland Electric Bike Tour

Tantalize your taste buds and brush up on your wine knowledge on our E-bike Winelands Tour. Enjoy two wine tastings at award-winning wine farms, a cellar visit and a wonderful ride in the vines. After a short safety briefing, you will start riding your e-bike in the trails surrounding the property’s vines. Hills and small valleys will lead you to your first wine tasting of 3 or 4 different wines from the first estate. You will then ride up to the top of the hill to enjoy the fresh air and the view over the beautiful landscape. Enjoy a fine lunch (included) and visit the cellar of the second wine farm before you finish the tour with the last wine tasting of this new property. You will then be driven back at your hotel.

Day 5: Hop-On, Hop-Off Cape Town Tour

We provide you with a hop-on, hop-off bus ticket for you to explore the beautiful area of Cape Town at your own leisure.  Set seductively between mountains and the sea, Cape Town flaunts its natural beauty with pride. Rising above the city, iconic Table Mountain provides the perfect plateau for panoramic views that stretch to the glittering Atlantic, botanical gardens beckon from its slopes, and the city’s long blonde beaches backed by towering peaks are some of South Africa’s best. Bubbling beneath the surface is an irrepressible sense of adventure, and travelers can join in the fun with a range of outdoor activities, from hiking, biking, surfing, and paragliding to whale-watching trips and cage dives with great white sharks.

As the oldest European settlement in Africa, Cape Town has a rich and, at times, turbulent past. At Robben Island, history buffs can see where Mandela was incarcerated for 18 years. In the hinterland, elegant Stellenbosch is a Nirvana for foodies. Along the rugged coast, scenic drives slice into mountains that plunge to the sea, penguins waddle on pristine beaches, and Cape Point is part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site with one of the richest floral kingdoms in the world

Day 6: Cape Town to Kruger Park

Today you depart from Cape Town International Airport to Nelspruit Airport. On arrival at the airport, you will be met by a representative who will transfer you to Pretoriuskop Rest Camp. After settling into your tents, you go out on your first game drive which is a National Park Sunset Drive. A sunset drive affords you the opportunity to see nocturnal animals that are more active at night and the Park’s rangers are allowed to return after the normal gate closing times. Note that these drives take place in one of the Kruger Park’s vehicles with a Park’s ranger. This is not a private game drive and there may be other guests on this drive. (Children under 6 years of age are not permitted on open vehicle drives.) Dinner is a three-course meal, served al fresco at our private camp within Pretoriuskop.

Day 7: Morning Bush Walk & Afternoon Safari

Safaris are all about early mornings, getting out there and seeing animals! After an early wake-up call (the time varies according to the seasons and park gate opening times), we have tea or coffee & rusks (dried biscuits to be dunked in your drink!) You then set out on a bushwalk with the National Parks Rangers. Up to eight guests are taken to interesting places in the surrounding wilderness areas adjacent to most of the camps. The walk itself is relaxed and experienced and armed guides use their knowledge of the bush to explain natural wonders. On returning to Pretoriuskop, breakfast/brunch will be ready at our camp. You then have time to enjoy a swim, catch up on some sleep, visit the park shop which includes African curios, general food items, and drinks or take a walk around the camp. Pretoriuskop is also a bird watcher’s paradise! Be sure to bring along your binoculars! After a siesta, we set off on the afternoon game drive. We conduct all our game drives in specially adapted 4×4 open game drive vehicles to allow our guests the best possible vantage point. We share safari stories at the campfire under the stars after a scrumptious dinner served at our camp.

Day 8: Kruger Park to Cape Town

Enjoy a last morning safari drive and breakfast at the camp before checking-out. Your driver will collect you from the camp and transfer you to Nelspruit’s KMIA Airport for your flight to Cape Town.
